The photograph above shows a stone circle near Cumnock most likely dating from the Bronze Age, known locally as the "Rocking Stone" due to the fact that the large stone in the centre of the circle at some time in the past balanced in such a way that it was able to be rocked from side to side. It is also referred to in some books/jurnals as the "Lamagee" or "Lamargle" stone. The stone no longer rocks, it is located immediately outside the village of Lugar near Cumnock (on the Muirkirk side).
